Janine will be exhibiting in “The Annual,” a juried show at the Living Arts Centre. The ‘carne vale’ video installation is part of a group exhibition presented by SAVAC (South Asian Visual Arts Centre). The exhibition will run from July 9-Aug 21, 2011.

life chronology
1974 May 12… premature, weighing 3lbs 4oz… haven’t grown much since. 1975 1976 1977 1978 Drug overdose at age 4. Our family doctor prescribed adult strength medication and I was high for a week. I recall the doctors trying to entice me to speak as I stared at them blankly… focusing on the buzzing sound of silence in the background. [read more]

Janine Ramlochan will be one of the many contributing artists in the Square Foot Show @ AWOL Gallery - 78 Ossington Ave in Toronto. This is AWOL’s 8th annual exhibit of the square foot varietal and runs from Aug 21-Sep 5.

'you say you want a revolution'
A photo series entitled “Partitions of the Mind” by Janine Ramlochan will be exhibited as part of the annual city-wide CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto. “You Say You Want a Revolution: Personal Histories,” a juried show curated by Lise Beaudry (Director of Gallery 44) will be showing at Launch Projects Gallery (404 Adelaide St W) between May 6-31, 2009.
